Japanese delegation visited UL Biotechnical Faculty

On 18th of January 2018 a japanese delegation visited Biotechnical Faculty of University of Ljubljana. At the faculty they were received by prof. dr. Emil Erjavec, vice-dean for science and research, prof. dr. Nataša Poklar Ulrih, president of Comittee for scientific research work, prof. dr. Damjana Drobne, head of Nanobiology and Toxicology team from the Department of Biology and senior advisor at the Slovenian Innovation Hub, doc. dr. Iztok Dogša, co-author of an article published in Nature Communications and prof. dr. Hrvoje Petković, professor of Biotechnology at Department of Food Science.
Japanese delegation included:
- prof. dr. Hidetoshi Kotera, professor at Department of Microengineering at Graduate School of Engineering and Faculty of Engineering in Kyoto,
- prof. dr. Hiroyuki Akinaga, head of research at Institute of nano-electronics at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
Purpose of this visit was to find options for scientific-research cooperation with slovenian experts and their establishments. This goes especially for the field of nanotechnology or micro electro engineering systems (MEMS). During their visit Slovenian NanoPlatform was also presented.
Prof. dr. Akinaga has established further contacts with the Hub trying to identify potential of slovenian partners for cooperation in the field of nanotechnology.
