Director
dr. Alenka Rožaj Brvar, MBAIn my new position of director of the Slovenian Innovation Hub, I want to continue the work as outlined and set by the previous team, led by the initiator prof. dr. Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik. I see SIS EGIZ as a specific institution that connects the academic and economic spheres with the aim of commercializing knowledge. SIS EGIZ, in cooperation with its partners, must contribute to the establishment of a better supportive innovation environment in Slovenia by influencing decision-makers and financiers. SIS EGIZ, in cooperation with its partners, must contribute to the establishment of a better supportive innovation environment in Slovenia by influencing decision-makers and financiers.
I have worked in the economy most of my professional life, so I am well aware that successful cooperation requires cultivating and strengthening mutual trust and respect. As long as the cooperation between the partners follows the outlined paths, the realization of strategic goals and common interests seems easy and beautiful. But when problems come, you need to be persistent, brave, and act openly, honestly. If the partners are honest, sincere and invest enough time and energy, success cannot be missed.
The hub can help bring together promising yet dispersed potentials to reach critical mass and more quickly become one of the recognized innovative countries associated with the world’s best in creating new products and services. At SIS EGIZ, we want to offer our partners co-creation of new business models, cooperation with top experts, and help in finding potential partners and sources of financing at home and abroad. In doing so, we will encourage and support our members in achieving scientific, technological and business excellence on a global level. The meeting point is an association of excellent, capable and ambitious people who want to upgrade their competencies by exchanging good practices and continuous learning, without which there is no long-term success in a professional environment.
By creating conditions that will contribute to better mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation – such was the preparation of the FIT4AGE project, where partners appeared and joined themselves – we want to push the boundaries and open new perspectives especially for young people to create new firms and new jobs in high value-added industries.
