Slovenian Innovation Hub (SIS EGIZ, SIH EEIG) was established to reduce fragmentation of the Slovenian innovation ecosystem and enable knowledge generation and innovation transfer to users. A vital portion of its activities is dedicated to the implementation of the S3 strategy in the area of Health and Medicine, SIH being appointed as national coordinator. SIH is a central partner, connecting research institutions, healthcare systems, civil society, companies, and the decision-makers. By developing advanced solutions and employing KETs, AI, IT, cell and gene therapies, etc., we help turn promising concepts into solutions that improve treatment, care and quality of life.
Special attention is devoted to the silver economy – supporting innovation that enables older adults to live better, healthier and more independently.
Internationally, we operate as a Reference Site Slovenia 3* for Active and Healthy Ageing; we are members of the Vanguard Initiative (Smart Health), the EU Precision medicine Medic Nest meta-cluster, Slovenian-Dutch Business Partnership, Slovenian Business Research Association, European Platform for Sports Innovation, ECHAlliance and ECCP.
We are co-founders of the TIM – Twin’s International Multihelix meta-cluster, present on three continents, and a valued partner in EU projects such as HealthChain (I3), GeneH, IFIGENEIA, Senior Eco-Nect and IN-4-AHA.
